The Alter Ego system

Your origin is
discovered.

You do not select a power package at character creation. Your origin emerges from the world, then becomes a responsibility, a temptation and a story only you can define.

One character. Two lives.

The mask does not replace the person.

Your Alter Ego grows from the civilian life you have already built. The contacts you trust, the places you know and the skills you learned continue to matter after extraordinary abilities appear.

Keeping the two lives in balance creates new choices. Protect a secret, reveal the truth, use your power quietly or become impossible to ignore. Every answer changes what comes next.

Power creates possibility. Identity creates consequence.
Possible origins

The world decides how the door opens. You decide where it leads.

Origins introduce different ability families, progression paths and story possibilities.

Mutant

A hidden (or acquired) trait awakens and rewrites the limits of what your body can become.

Vampire

An ancient hunger brings unnatural gifts, dangerous needs and older enemies.

Cybernetic

Technology becomes inseparable from flesh, extending ability at a personal cost.

Demonic

A connection to something beyond the human world offers power with its own agenda.

Unknown

Some transformations resist every label, and may reveal origins still concealed.

Your path

An origin is the beginning, not the build.

Awaken

Encounter the event, revelation or transformation that changes your character’s world.

Understand

Experiment, research and learn the boundaries of abilities that may not arrive with instructions.

Develop

Choose how powers evolve, how they combine with skills and what weaknesses you are willing to carry.

Declare

Through action and reputation, become a hero, a villain, an enigma or something entirely your own.

No alignment selector

Heroes and villains are made in public.

The game does not ask you to tick a box marked good or evil. It watches what you do: who benefits, who pays the price, what dark arts you dabble with, which lines you cross and whether you stand behind the consequences.

Other characters form opinions from your deeds. Factions and Guilds may welcome you, fear you.... Or decide that you must be stopped at all costs.
